You are welcome here.
Take a sip of tea and allow yourself to be seen.
I don't know how you got here. This is how I got here.
Many years of my life I was living mostly in my head. In my case, that has always been a happy place. I had so little reason to listen to my body, that I was rarely ever aware of it. Then, in 2014 I got testicular cancer. For some reason it seemed evident to me, that I played a role in letting this grow in my body. Not with any self-blame, but it was clear to me that this is something worth listening to. By the time that was kind of all I had, I didn't know what exactly I would even mean by listening deeper to my body but it started by realizing how little I was connected to certain emotions. What followed was a long journey of introspection, meditation, and finally body work. When years later a friend of mine told me about Dearmouring, I was not trying to address any health issue, but rather following of a vague curiosity around consciousness and the body. He called it life-changing and something in his voice told me that is not a hollow phrase he uses loosely. He didn't say how exactly it changed his life and neither can I put it into words. But it clearly changed the way I feel, touch, move, and love.
Now I give bodywork sessions. Of what kind?
Well every session actually looks quite different. There have been:
- Sessions that become really emotional
- Sessions that stay on an energetic level
- Sessions that treat physical symptoms
- Sessions that are spiritual openings
- Sessions that look like silent Reiki treatment
- Sessions that look like a tantra massage
- Sessions that look like an exorcism
- Sessions that feel like healing
- Sessions where it feels like this is not about healing at all.
So what is my work? Here is how other people describe it:
“how insanely intelligent the body is”
K.M.“I was safe enough to surrender to pleasure”
P.T.“I was able to discover new parts of myself”
E.B.“powerful things happened by trusting”
J.O.“I felt like a weight had been lifted off of me.”
D.K.I don't offer a wellness treatment. I don't really offer a treatment at all. What I do offer is my presence, my care, and of course my touch. And I want you to open up to the possibility that this offering is something that you might not have a category for, yet.
